Quick answer: A survey referral code or invite link can attribute a new member to the person who shared it, but a reward is conditional—not automatic income. Official provider pages describe different triggers: InboxPounds’ help article describes a share of specified referral earnings; Qmee’s terms say a referral reward may be offered to selected users after a friend’s first cash-out; and Swagbucks describes a share of eligible activity, with an extra 300-SB condition that is not available in every country. Check the live terms shown to your UK account before sharing or relying on any reward. Checked 13 October 2026.

This is a practical how-to, not a “best-paying referral programmes” ranking. We hold no referral codes of our own, have not opened accounts or tested tracking, and do not promise that a programme is available to every UK member. The official pages below are useful evidence, but account screens and current terms take priority where an offer is targeted or country-limited.

A referral link contains an identifier that can connect a new registration to the member who invited them. A provider may then award a one-off credit, a share of eligible activity, or no reward unless a stated condition is met. Those are possible programme designs—not a promise that every panel offers each type.

The important question is not simply “Does this site have a referral code?” It is: what exact event earns the reward, who qualifies, what activity counts, and where does the current UK account show the rule? A friend clicking a link alone may not satisfy the requirement.

Official provider evidence to check

The table summarises provider-published information available on the check date. It separates a page’s stated mechanics from facts that remain account-specific or country-dependent.

ProviderOfficial source and stated mechanicQualifying event / exclusionsUK-specific caveat
InboxPoundsIts official referral-help article describes a 10% share of certain referral earnings. The article is dated 22 April 2024 and remained accessible when checked on 13 October 2026.The friend must register through the personal link. The article lists surveys other than profile surveys, offers, games, shopping, tasks and coupon redemptions as eligible; it excludes the sign-up bonus, profile surveys, paid email and certain toolbar activity. This is dated help-centre guidance, not proof that every account currently has an active programme. Check the UK account’s referral area and terms before sharing.
QmeeThe UK terms say a friend-get-friend scheme may be offered from time to time to users designated by Qmee. The terms say the friend must sign up through the personal link; a reward is credited when that friend makes a first cash-out to PayPal or a gift card. The UK FAQ describes the first PayPal cash-out as the trigger, so the two official pages do not phrase the trigger identically. The reward amount is not published in these pages. Confirm that the scheme is visible to your account and follow the terms shown there; do not assume an invite alone qualifies.
SwagbucksIts official referral article describes 10% of specified eligible earnings while a referral remains active. It lists eligible activity categories and excludes sign-up bonuses, Swag Codes, buying SB and other categories. It also describes a 300-SB bonus if the referral earns 300 SB within the first 30 days. The help article expressly says the 300-SB bonus is not available in all countries; it does not establish that the extra bonus applies to every UK account. Check the UK account’s current terms and visible offer.

No cash value is assigned here to a percentage or to SB. These are programme rules, not a forecast of what a friend will earn or what the referrer will receive. If you cannot see the matching programme in your account, treat it as unavailable to you unless support confirms otherwise.

  1. Sign in to the correct country account. Use the panel’s official UK site or app, not a copied page for another market.
  2. Open the referral area. Look for labels such as “Refer a friend”, “Invite”, or “Referral”. Some providers expose a link only to selected or established members.
  3. Read the linked terms before copying. Check whether the invitee must be a new member, complete registration in the same browser session, verify an email, complete a survey, or make a first cash-out.
  4. Check the reward definition. Note whether it is cash, points, a percentage of eligible earnings, or a temporary campaign. Record excluded activity, any cap, expiry date and country restriction. If a condition is absent, mark it “not stated”; do not fill the gap with a forum post.
  5. Share the personal link without altering it. Shorteners, redirects, paid search or other traffic methods may conflict with provider rules or break attribution. Use the sharing method the provider supplies.
  6. Keep evidence and check status. Save the date and terms, then look at the account’s referral list or activity ledger. If a qualifying event is missing, contact the provider with the link date and relevant evidence; the provider’s terms govern whether it can credit the reward.

Rules, eligibility and account risk

There is no single UK-wide referral rule. Read the exact panel terms for both inviter and invitee, especially if you share a home or device. Do not create a second account or invite yourself unless the provider expressly permits it. For example, Qmee’s terms say a member may have only one account and that earnings from additional accounts may not be paid; Qmee may disable additional accounts. That is a Qmee rule, not a claim about every survey site.

Referral promotion has its own restrictions too. Swagbucks’ help guidance prohibits specified methods for generating referral traffic, including paid-search traffic and link manipulation. Do not assume that a method permitted by one panel is permitted by another. Avoid unsolicited mass messages, misleading reward promises, fake accounts and posting links in communities that prohibit promotions. A provider may reject or reverse a reward or take account action where its own terms allow it; the result depends on that provider’s wording and facts.

If you share your own invite link, say plainly that it is a referral and that you may benefit. Do not state a reward as guaranteed unless the current terms support that exact claim. For example:

“This is my referral link. If you join and meet the provider’s current qualifying conditions, I may receive a reward. Please check the provider’s terms before signing up.”

That disclosure concerns a member referral. It is not a substitute for a publisher’s separate affiliate disclosure if a website later adds affiliate tracking links. This article currently contains no affiliate tracking links.

Referral reward versus sign-up bonus

A sign-up bonus is a new-member offer tied to joining or another stated first step. A referral reward is linked to an existing member’s invitation and may depend on the invited person’s later activity. They are separate offers; one does not prove the other exists. Our UK sign-up bonus tracker records provider-stated new-member offers separately.

If the referral does not track

First check whether your friend used the personal invite link and finished registration under the same account and browser flow. Then compare the event with the qualifying trigger: a registration-only scheme, a first-survey requirement and a first-cash-out requirement are not interchangeable. Check the referral list or ledger and the provider’s own missing-reward process. Do not ask a friend to create another account to “fix” attribution; that may create a terms problem rather than solve it.

FAQ

How do survey referral codes work?
A code or personal URL can attribute a new registration to the member who shared it. A reward is paid only if the provider’s current conditions are met; the trigger may be registration or a later qualifying action.

Where do I find my survey referral code?
Sign in to the provider’s official UK account and look for “Refer a friend”, “Invite” or “Referral”. Some schemes are shown only to selected users, so a missing menu should not be replaced with a third-party code.

How much do UK survey referral programmes pay?
There is no single amount. The official pages checked describe different mechanics, and some do not publish an amount or may limit availability by country or account. Confirm the live UK terms before estimating a reward.

Can referring friends get my account banned?
Referring someone is not automatically a breach, but a provider’s specific rules matter. Avoid self-referrals, duplicate accounts, misleading claims and prohibited traffic methods. The consequences depend on the provider’s terms; see our guide to survey account reviews and appeals.

Do survey referral links expire?
Expiry is not established by the three help pages summarised above. A campaign or link can still be unavailable or changed, so check the account and current terms when you share it rather than assuming it remains valid indefinitely.

What is the difference between a referral and an invite link?
“Invite link” describes the URL used to invite someone. It is a referral link only when the provider tracks it under a referral programme and the programme’s qualifying conditions are met.

For provider-specific earning and cash-out context, see our InboxPounds review. For account restrictions and appeals, read why survey accounts may be reviewed or closed. These guides do not replace the current terms in your account.
