Who we are
Survey Reviews UK operates this website and is the data controller for personal information processed through it. You can contact the privacy team through our Contact page.
This policy applies to Survey Reviews UK. Survey panels, affiliate networks, advertisers and other websites we link to are separate organisations with their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website, we may process:
- Contact information: your email address, name and the contents of messages you send us.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, requested pages and security logs generated by our hosting or security providers.
- Consent information: the cookie or local-storage choice saved on your device and, where applicable, records showing when and how consent was provided.
- Usage and referral information: page interactions, outbound link clicks and referral or conversion identifiers where analytics, affiliate measurement or advertising tools are enabled.
We do not ask for survey answers, payment details or survey-panel passwords.
How and why we use information
| Purpose | Information | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Responding to questions, corrections and enquiries | Contact details and message content | Legitimate interests in communicating with readers and maintaining accurate editorial content |
| Operating, securing and diagnosing the website | Technical and security logs | Legitimate interests in providing a reliable and secure website |
| Non-essential analytics, affiliate measurement and personalised advertising | Usage, device, cookie and referral information | Consent where required by UK data protection law and PECR |
| Meeting legal or regulatory requirements | Information relevant to the request or obligation | Legal obligation |
Cookies and device storage
Survey Reviews UK uses local storage to remember your cookie choice. Strictly necessary storage may be used without consent where it is essential to provide a service you request. Analytics, advertising and other non-essential tracking technologies must not be loaded until you have made the relevant choice where consent is required.
You can find more information in our Cookie Policy. Clearing your browser storage may reset your choice.
Analytics
Analytics is not loaded by default. If Google Analytics or another analytics service is enabled, and you consent where required, it may process information about pages visited, interactions, approximate location, browser, device and referral source. We use analytics to understand aggregate website performance and improve content, not to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Affiliate links and Daisycon tracking
Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you choose to follow one, Daisycon or another affiliate network and the destination advertiser may receive a referral identifier together with technical information such as your IP address, device information and click time. They may use cookies or similar technologies to attribute a later signup or transaction to Survey Reviews UK.
We may receive an aggregated conversion report and commission, but we do not receive your survey responses or account password. Affiliate relationships do not determine our editorial coverage. Where affiliate tracking requires consent, it should only operate after consent has been provided.
Advertising
Display advertising is currently disabled. If Google AdSense or another advertising service is enabled later, contextual ads may operate without behavioural profiling where permitted. Cookies or similar technologies used for personalised advertising will require the appropriate consent before they are loaded. Advertising providers may process device, usage and advertising-interaction information under their own privacy notices.
Who receives information
We may share relevant information with the following categories of recipient only where needed:
- website hosting, security and technical service providers;
- email service providers used to respond to enquiries;
- analytics and advertising providers, including Google, when the relevant service is enabled;
- affiliate networks, including Daisycon, and destination advertisers when you follow an affiliate link;
- professional advisers, regulators, courts or public authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards, transfers must rely on an applicable adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
External websites
Links to survey panels and other third-party websites take you away from Survey Reviews UK. We do not control how those organisations collect information, assess survey eligibility or manage member accounts. Review the destination website's privacy policy before providing personal information.
How long we keep information
- Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond, maintain an appropriate record and resolve related issues.
- Consent records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate and respect your choice.
- Technical, analytics, advertising and affiliate records follow the retention settings of the relevant service and are reviewed when those services are configured.
Information may be retained longer where required by law or needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the information and the lawful basis used, you may have rights to be informed, access your information, correct inaccurate information, request erasure, restrict processing, receive portable information and withdraw consent.
You may object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests; we will then consider whether there are compelling lawful grounds to continue.
To make a request, use our Contact page. We may ask for proportionate information to confirm your identity. These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Guidance and the complaint service are available at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated. Material changes will be reflected here before new processing begins where practicable.
