How to Cash Out on UK Survey Sites: Verified Thresholds and Timing (2026)
Compare verified UK survey cash-out thresholds, separate request eligibility from processing and arrival, and troubleshoot delayed PayPal, bank and voucher rewards.
Survey Reviews UK Editorial Team · Published · Updated · 10 min read

Quick answer: We could confirm three current UK payout rules on provider pages: Qmee has no minimum for PayPal cash-out; Prolific requires £6/$6 in combined approved balances; and SurveyBods normally requires 1,500 points, currently worth £15 for UK members. These are not interchangeable: Prolific's pending study rewards do not count, Qmee's gift cards can have their own minimum amounts, and SurveyBods' available reward methods depend on the account. A request threshold, a platform's stated processing time and the final arrival in PayPal or a bank are separate things.
Start by checking what “cash out” means
Before comparing sites, check four stages in order:
- Available balance: has the platform approved or credited the reward, or is it still pending?
- Request eligibility: have you reached the minimum for this particular reward method, and met its account checks?
- Platform handling: what does the operator say about issuing or processing the request?
- Payment arrival: after release, does PayPal, a bank or a voucher provider need additional time or action?
A minimum threshold answers only the second question. It does not say how many surveys you will qualify for, when a pending reward becomes available or when an external provider will display the payment.

Thresholds confirmed on provider pages
The table includes only method-level rules that we could verify on a provider's current public page as of 13 October 2026. “Processing or arrival statement” records what that provider says; it is not our own payout test.
| Platform and method | Eligibility to request | Platform processing / arrival statement | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qmee — PayPal | No minimum according to Qmee's UK FAQ. The PayPal account must be verified, registered in the same country as the Qmee account and not linked to another Qmee account. | Qmee says the money should appear in PayPal within a few minutes; it warns that banking hours, public holidays and outside systems can delay it. | This is Qmee's end-to-end estimate, not a guaranteed arrival time. Do not apply the no-minimum rule to every gift card. |
| Prolific — PayPal | £6/$6 combined across approved GBP and USD balances. Pending study rewards do not count. Prolific generally allows one cash-out per 24 hours; a 72-hour cool-off can apply after fewer than four cash-outs or a recent PayPal detail change. | Prolific says cash-outs typically arrive in PayPal within 24 hours, often sooner. | Researcher approval happens before funds become available; an unreviewed study can be auto-approved after up to 22 days. This is separate from the post-request PayPal timing. |
| SurveyBods — available voucher or bank method | Normally 1,500 points, in 1,500-point increments; the current UK Terms say 1,500 points represents £15. The reward type and whether bank transfer is available depend on country and account. | Current Terms say the operator aims to issue or process a valid redemption within 28 days; a successful bank transfer may take additional banking days. Its Rewards FAQ separately says Amazon vouchers usually take about 5 days and bank transfer about 3 weeks. | These are provider statements, not a guaranteed delivery date. The Terms are newer than the FAQ and should be read alongside the live account options. |

What is not confirmed as a current minimum
For Swagbucks, InboxPounds, OnePoll, Toluna, LifePoints and YouGov, we have not confirmed a current UK minimum for every payment method. OnePoll's former FAQ redirected to the company homepage when rechecked on 14 October 2026; its previously recorded conflicting amounts cannot be treated as freshly verified rules. InboxPounds' help articles describe changes across dated updates. Check the live member catalogue for eligible denominations. A missing public figure does not mean no minimum.
Some independent guides still publish threshold figures. These belong in context only—not in a verified comparison or a recommendation—because we could not confirm them on the providers' current UK help or terms pages:
| Provider | Figure reported by an independent source | Evidence limit |
|---|---|---|
| InboxPounds | Around £20 in a third-party review checked in July 2026. | An official April 2024 help article also shows £20, while an April 2025 update says the provider was working on a lower threshold. Neither establishes the current UK minimum. |
| OnePoll | Historical reports mention £25 / 2,500 points, with £20 / 2,000 points also recorded in earlier FAQ research. | The former FAQ redirected to the company homepage on 14 October 2026. Neither number has been reconfirmed as a current UK threshold. |
| YouGov | Around £50 in a third-party guide published in February 2024. | This is older context and may be out of date; the current reward and country-specific rules take priority. |
We have deliberately left reported amounts out of the verified table. They are not equivalent to provider terms and should not be treated as current facts.
Processing time is not the same as arrival time
The three examples selected for this guide phrase their timing differently. Qmee and Prolific publish an estimate for when PayPal should show the payment after a cash-out request. SurveyBods' current Terms use a broader target for issuing or processing a valid reward, then explicitly allow additional banking days for a successful bank transfer. Its Rewards FAQ gives typical method-specific estimates, but the current Terms are the newer document. These examples are not an exhaustive list of platforms with published thresholds.
For Prolific, there is also a wait before you can request a payout: the researcher must approve the study. Prolific says an unreviewed submission is automatically approved after 22 days. Once the money is in your approved balance, the £6/$6 minimum and cash-out cadence apply. Do not add the researcher approval period to the payment processor's post-request timing as if they were one step.
For a voucher, check whether the platform sends an email code or uses another fulfilment route. For a bank transfer, check if the platform's stated period includes bank clearing. For PayPal, confirm the currency and account settings; an external provider may hold or return a payment even after the platform initiated it. No provider estimate here should be read as a guarantee for every account.
Troubleshoot a payout in this order
1. Check the balance state. A Prolific study can remain pending until approved. A survey site's displayed total may also differ from the amount available to redeem. Check the “approved,” “available” or equivalent balance label.
2. Check the method-specific threshold. Qmee's no-minimum rule applies to PayPal cash-out, not necessarily to every gift card. Prolific's £6/$6 figure uses combined approved GBP and USD balances. SurveyBods' current UK terms define 1,500-point steps and say available reward methods are shown in the account.
3. Check the payment account against that provider's rules. Qmee requires a verified PayPal account in the same country and not linked to another Qmee account. Prolific requires matching identity and residence details, a verified PayPal account able to receive GBP and USD, and the correct primary PayPal email setting; the account email itself does not have to be identical. For SurveyBods, check the bank details or reward destination you entered and the redemption confirmation.
4. Allow the operator's stated period, then check the destination account. Review the confirmation, spam folder for voucher email, PayPal activity and any bank notification. A platform's processing estimate and the destination provider's posting time may not be the same thing.
5. Contact the platform with evidence. Include the survey or redemption reference, date, amount, reward method and screenshots of the relevant status. Do not send your password or full card/bank credentials. If a balance is missing, report it within the time limit in that provider's terms.
Should you cash out as soon as possible?
There is no rule that suits every platform. A low threshold can make small balances accessible sooner; a catalogue with a higher minimum may mean waiting longer or choosing a different reward. Before leaving a balance untouched, check whether points expire, what happens on inactivity or account closure, whether you can use the reward, and whether a method-specific fee or currency conversion applies. Those rules differ by provider, so avoid a blanket “always cash out immediately” or “always save up” instruction.
If avoiding a PayPal threshold is your priority, our separate UK no-minimum payout page explains the narrower evidence category. It is a filter, not a ranking of the best survey sites. For broader site comparisons, see our best UK survey sites guide.
Tax note
Tax treatment depends on the nature of the activity and your circumstances; withdrawing a reward is not automatically the only relevant date. This guide is not tax advice. Read our UK survey tax guide and check current HMRC information where needed.
FAQ
What is the minimum payout on UK survey sites?
There is no single UK-wide minimum. The provider pages we confirmed show no minimum for Qmee PayPal cash-out, £6/$6 combined approved balance for Prolific, and 1,500 points (£15 for UK members) for SurveyBods' normal redemption step. The platform and reward method matter.
Which UK survey site has no minimum payout?
Qmee states that PayPal cash-out has no minimum. That does not automatically apply to its gift cards, and the account verification and country rules still apply. See the Qmee review for the conditions.
How long do UK survey payouts take?
It depends on the provider and the method. Qmee says PayPal usually appears within a few minutes; Prolific says PayPal cash-outs typically arrive within 24 hours; SurveyBods' current Terms aim to issue or process a valid reward within 28 days, with additional bank days possible. These are provider statements, not guarantees.
Are pending study rewards available to cash out?
Not on Prolific: its £6/$6 threshold counts approved balances only. A researcher normally approves a submission or it is automatically approved after 22 days if no decision has been made.
Why has my survey payout not arrived?
Check whether the reward is approved, whether the chosen method's threshold is met, whether your payment details satisfy that platform's rules, and whether the stated processing window has passed. If it has, contact the provider with your redemption reference and evidence.
Does the platform's stated time include PayPal or bank arrival?
Not always. Qmee and Prolific describe when a PayPal payment should appear; SurveyBods' terms separate its processing target from additional bank days. Read the wording for the specific route rather than assuming every “processing” figure includes arrival.
Should I cash out small amounts or save up?
Check the platform's minimum, reward options, expiry and account-closure rules. A small cash-out may suit a no-minimum method; a different reward may require a larger balance. There is no universal rule across sites.
Do survey payouts count as taxable income?
That depends on the activity and your individual circumstances. This article does not determine your tax position; see the dedicated UK survey tax guide and current HMRC guidance.
